Brewers wind up Kili Music Tour

The Tanzania Breweries’ Kili Music Tour under the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager banner was concluded in style following an epic concert staged at the Leaders Club venue in Dar es Salaam last Saturday.

The non-stop concert, which lasted nine hours, was highly thrilling and fans enjoyed every bit of it amid off-season intermittent showers that could not stop them from partying.

This was a unique concert as three top bands Mashujaa, Mapacha Watatu and Malaika jointly performed on the same stage something that attracted fans as they cheered and sang along.

Other artistes who coloured the show included Khadija Kopa, Rich Mavoko, Ben Pol and Vanessa Mdee, Jambo Squard, Mwana FA, AY and Weusi. All artistes had something special for the fans and this kept the tempo of the show high and spellbound throughout.

Ms Aisha Zuberi from Kijitonyama was full of praises for the brewers  in relation to fans and their quest for such entertainment hence taking into consideration an affordable entry fee of 3,000/- and complimentary beer.

‘This is just like free, I am so happy and I must really congratulate TBL through its brand for this,’ she said.

On his part, the brewers’ official George Kavishe said as sponsors, they were pleased that the objective of taking artistes to the people had been achieved and that they will continue to ensure Tanzania’s music improves to greater heights.

He said the tour has been to ten regions with Dar es Salaam being the last one and it’s a fact that the objective has been achieved, ‘artistes appreciated this so well and we are glad that the fans also gave them an overwhelming response…we are also glad that the ‘kikwetu kwetu’ concept has been well understood,’ he said.

This year’s tour was coordinated by East Africa TV and Radio, Executive Solutions, Aggrey & Clifford, Aim Group and Integrated Communications.
